Damaged racking is rarely a write-off. Replacing one or two damaged components — usually a base section of upright, a damaged beam, a snapped brace or a missing beam connector — is faster, cheaper and less disruptive than swapping out a whole frame or unloading a bay. UM Storage Systems holds stock of replacement parts for every major UK and European racking brand, with same-week shipping on standard items.

Splice Kits and Base Repair Sections

By far the most commonly damaged component is the bottom 1-1.5m of an upright — the section in the firing line of forklift impact. SEMA-approved splice repair kits replace this section without unloading the bay or disturbing the rest of the rack. We hold splice stock for the most common UK profiles and ship same-week.

Each splice kit comes with installation instructions, fixings, an updated SEMA-aligned load notice and a photographic record template for your inspection log.

Replacement Beams and Beam Connectors

Damaged beams must be replaced in pairs (matched length and capacity) and beam connectors must match the original upright profile to maintain load capacity. We hold stock of standard 2.7m and 3.6m beams in capacities from 1,500kg to 3,000kg per pair, with custom lengths available 7-10 working days.

Beam connectors (clips, locks, safety pins) are stocked for all major brands and are supplied as standard with replacement beams.

Bracing, Footplates and Load Notices

Diagonal and horizontal bracing, base plates, footplates, shims and floor anchors complete the structural component range. Load notices, aisle plates, end-of-aisle protectors and inspection record holders complete the safety and signage range.

All components are supplied with installation guidance and, where the project warrants, a SEIRS-registered inspector to oversee installation and update load documentation.

How to Order and What We'll Need

Photos of the damaged component, the manufacturer's name and badge if visible, and the upright profile dimensions are usually enough for us to identify and quote the replacement. If the brand is unrecognisable we can attend site and identify it for you.

Stock items typically ship within 5 working days. Non-stock items 7-15 working days. Emergency same-day deliveries can be arranged at additional cost for Red-tagged repairs.

Look for a manufacturer's badge or stamp on the upright base, beam end-connector or front face. If you can't identify it, send us photos or have us attend site — we recognise virtually every UK and European brand on sight.

Can I install replacement parts myself?

Splice kits and beam swaps require some technical care; we recommend our installation service for safety-critical parts. Load notices, end-of-aisle protectors and bracing can usually be self-installed with the supplied instructions.
