HOW TO BUY PALLET RACKING THE RIGHT WAY
1. Start with your pallets and your building
Pallet size, maximum load and the clear height under your roof or lights decide everything else. A standard UK pallet (1200 × 1000mm) normally sits on 2,700mm beams, two pallets per level, on 1,100mm deep frames. Give us these numbers — or rough guesses — and we'll size the system for you.
2. Choose new or used racking
New racking gives you any size, finish and manufacturer warranty. Used racking from brands such as Dexion, Link 51, Mecalux and Esmena is inspected and graded, available from stock, and typically 40–65% cheaper. Many customers mix both — used for bulk runs, new for awkward sizes.
3. Pick the right system type
Adjustable pallet racking suits most warehouses. Narrow aisle, drive-in and push-back racking increase density, while cantilever racking handles long loads like timber and steel. Not sure? Choose 'Not sure — advise me' in the form and our designers will recommend a layout.
4. Plan installation and safety
Racking must be installed to SEMA guidelines with load notices displayed. Our SEIRS-trained teams install, fit protection and issue handover documents, so you're compliant from day one. We can also add a free CAD layout so you see pallet positions before you commit.
