What Is Carpet Racking?
Carpet racking is a purpose-built heavy-duty storage system for rolled floorcoverings — broadloom carpet, vinyl, LVT, underlay, artificial grass, laminate and rubber flooring. Standard pallet racking simply cannot hold long, heavy rolls safely: rolls sag, crease, get damaged at the edges, and become almost impossible to retrieve without a forklift collision. Carpet racking solves every one of those problems.

Horizontal vs Vertical Carpet Racking
The right configuration depends on roll length, weight, turnover and available floor space. Most flooring businesses use a combination of both to balance capacity and picking speed.
Horizontal Cantilever Racking
The gold standard for full-length broadloom rolls up to 5m long and 500kg+. Long, sloped cantilever arms fully support the roll along its length — no sagging, no edge damage, no crushed pile. Ideal for commercial carpet, vinyl and LVT rolls held in bulk.
Vertical A-Frame Racking
High-density vertical storage for shorter rolls, remnants and mixed stock. Rolls stand upright in a leaning A-frame, giving instant visual identification and fast single-person picking. Perfect for retail showrooms and cut-length operations.
Double-Sided Cantilever
Free-standing double-sided cantilever bays with arms on both sides of a central upright. Doubles storage density per square metre and creates natural aisles for reach truck or forklift access. The most efficient layout for distribution centres.
Mezzanine Carpet Storage
Combine carpet racking with a mezzanine floor to use full building height. Ground-level cantilever for heavy commercial rolls, upper-level vertical racking for domestic offcuts and samples — a common fit-out for growing flooring wholesalers.
